Responsibilities
We are looking for an Linux/Unix System Administrator to help build and run our best-of-breed products that combine internally and externally built applications on a large B2C and B2B web network.
Specifically, he/she will:
• Maintain a knowledgebase of code, process, and useful things in wiki’s
• Balance technology development with business project objectives
• Maintain and operate more than 12 servers including RedHat, FreeBSD, and VMWare instances.
• Administer and manage version control repositories with Subversion and various content management systems including OpenCMS, Drupal, and MovableType
• Administer and coordinate changes to email through an outsourced Exchange Server
• Coordinate release planning and site deployment working in partnership with the VP of Application Development and System Administration.
• Coordinate and migrate changes into UAT, Production, across all levels of the technology stack.
Requirements
• Fun, happy, energetic player with a fantastic team-oriented development philosophy
• Comfortable gliding in and out of new technologies, and embracing projects that “reduce the number of lines of code”.
• Experience working with various open source applications and integrating them into an enterprise framework.
• Demonstrated mastery in operating Linux/Unix servers for startups and large organizations alike
• Experience with large-scale content management or e-commerce systems including OpenCMS and Drupal.
• 5 years of system administration background.
• Experience with Single Sign On, Session Management, and Load balancing technologies.
• Highly motivated, able to work both in a team and solo.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Ability to support operations 7x24 as will the System Architect and Chief Technology Officer.
• Excellent communication skills.
• BS/MS in CS or related degree.
