Duration 3mnths (Contract to Hire)
Position: Systems Administrator
Position description:
Administer servers running Linux (Red Hat) and Windows as well as a NAS environment. Ability to install and configure applications in both Linux and Windows environments. Help with second level support using our current ticketing system. Support and administer network environment including routers, firewalls, vpn, etc.
Required Education:
BA or BS (Technical certifications a plus)
Required Skill Sets:
3-5 years experience Managing and Administering a Unix/Linux/Windows environment (at least 3 years Linux) Expertise to enable the Verification Of Scheduled Tasks, Process Status and Resource Utilization Proficient in a scripting language (Shell scripting, Perl, Python, PHP). Should be able to connect database, manipulate basic data-structures, regular expressions, basic modularity, error handling Ability to work independently to get the job done Ability to work closely with end users and understand their needs and requirements Experience with Active Directory and Exchange 2003 Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking and protocols, including DNS, SMTP, HTTP, TFTP, SSH, IPSec, and SSL.
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, while maintaining a strong commitment to quality of work.
Ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with imaging software for both windows and linux OS Ability to implement and manage open source software
Desired Skill Sets:
MCSE certification a plus
Redhat certification a plus
