Fancy being at very forefront of IPTV, Television and web convergence? Based in the buzzing heart of Camden Lock, Stream UK is a dynamic company that's constantly evolving. We are involved in all aspects of broadcasting over the internet including UGC. The company is well positioned in the market and has an exceptionally good client base.
Stream UK are looking for a system administrator with at least 2 years post graduate experience. The role involves installing and managing complex Linux infrastructure for some the UK largest websites.
You will need to be an Linux all-rounder. Familiar with server set-up for high availability and heavy bandwidth use sites. You must be an excellent communicator and be able to both receive and give instruction clearly and quickly.
Salary will be in the range of £20-30k depending on skill set and experience.
Essential Skills:
- Linux and windows sysadmin
- Expertise with LAMP systems
- Awareness of scripting languages, particularly php
- Knowledge of high availability and highly scalable hosting infrastructure - mysql replication/clustering, HA proxy, LVS etc
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Server specification, installation and administration in both windows and Linux
- SQL back ups and maintenance
Attitude and approach:
- Methodical and high attention to detail
- Lateral thinking problem solver
- Willing to occasionally work non-conventional hours
